Ligier
Ligier is a car that is made by a French automobile company. It was founded by a racing driver called Guy Ligier. The very first car that was made by this automobile manufacturer was called Ligier JS2. This was a mid-engine sports car. It has a really powerful engine in it, the same one that is found in Maserati V6 and the Citroen SM.
The Ligier JS is an extremely well designed car and has the most amazing power to it. It has the most amazingly wonderful light weight that a car could ever have and yet exude such wonderful power.
Then in the year 1973 due to the fuel crisis, the sales for Ligier almost came to a grinding halt. This was because of the fuel crisis but the company was quick to act and they started to concentrate on micrcars.
Then, in the year 2008, Ligier acquired Beneteau Group and the Microcar division along with it. Philip Ligier who was the son of the founder continued as the CEO of this new formed company. With the merger what came about was the second largest Microcar.
There are several mini car models such as X-Too and then the X-Pro line. These are made up of commercial vehicles. There are also quad bikes and utility vehicles that are produced by Ligier.
If you are looking for an automobile manufacturer that is renowned in France and Europe then you will certainly hear a whole lot about Ligier. It is the company that also has the best racing team in the Formula one races. The founder, Guy Ligier was not only a racing driver but also a rugby player. Whatever he learned from these two professions he put it in working for the automobile manufacturing unit that he set up.
The first car made by Ligier was JS2. The way the car was made to be it was a sports car with one of the most amazing of engines to it such as the V6. The moment the car was launched people liked it so very much that they started to queue up to buy it. What the buyers really liked about it was the ratio of the weight and power to it.
In the year 1977, when the contract that was in existence between Ligier and Matra came to an end another new car was rolled out by the company Ligier. This was the JS11. This was fitted with a Cosworth engine. This brought to it the most amazing of power. However, there were other sports car that gave it great competition as they were designed in the latest sleek aerodynamic fashion.
The crux of the Ligier cars were the engines fitted in them and the Ligier company had several people wanting to supply it with the engines but it never ever had one partner. It got engines from Renault, Alfa Romeo, BMW, and the Mugen-Honda. All through the difficult times that Ligier has faced its always been able to come out a winner.
