Isuzu
Isuzu is a Japanese automotive company. In fact it is one of the oldest of the automotive companies of Japan started way back in the year 1916. This was the year in which the company called Ishkawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering and Tokyo Gas and Electrical Industrial decided to get into the automobile manufacturing market.
In the year 1922, the first Japanese made truck was launched. It was a Wolseley model A-9. Then in the year the vehicle company vehicles were renamed Isuzu. This was after the sacred river of the region. These Isuzu trucks were really sturdy and were instrumental in building up Japan after the war. They were used to carry all kinds of heavy duty things.
The Isuzu Company launched in the year 1959 the N-Series of their cars. They had a diesel engine to them. The first of the passenger vehicles was made by the company in the year 1953 with the launch of the very first passenger car called the Hitman.
The next car was launched in the year 1961 called the Bellel and Bellet in the year 1963. The Bellet GT in the year 1968 got a whole lot of acclaim from the buyers. This was the Coupe that had been designed by Giugiaro. In the year 1981 came the Piazza which too was designed by Giugiaro.
The Isuzu Company launched the 4WD vehicle called the Rodeo Bighorn. The agreement with General Motors in the year 1971 enabled the Isuzu Company to go ahead and make its inroads into the overseas market. Since that time it has been right in the forefront of the commercial automobile manufacturing segment.
The very first diesel engine was developed by Rudolf Diesel in the year 1893, but the one that was developed in Japan the credit for it goes to Isuzu Company. It has been almost 75 years since it launched its first diesel driven car in the market. Although its history has been checkered it has been able to hold on to its market position.
In today's world, Isuzu Company has been in the forefront of manufacturing diesel engine production. The diesel engines that are developed by it are specifically low impact engines and are those that help buyers go green. This is the reason why they are highly acclaimed in the international market.
The most famous models from Isuzu Company are the four door Bellel which was the first car that was made by it in the own design manufacturing. After General Motors went ahead and bought a stake of 34% in the Isuzu Company, its mandate has been to go ahead and manufacture cars that are small and compact. This new compact car was called the Gemini and was introduced in the year 1974.
The other cars that were made by the Isuzu Company are Isuzu Amigo which is a compact SUV, Isuzu Ascender which is a mid-size SUV, Isuzu Axiom, Isuzu Hombre, Isuzu i-280, Isuzu Impulse, Isuzu Trooper, Isuzu VehiCross. The Isuzu cars are just what the buyers want.
